MEDITERANA – Cologne

By | June 4, 2019

Renovated in 2015, Mediterana is a stylish and excellent sauna facility with both textile and a textile free area – referred to as ‘Sauna world’.

The facility has saunas, steam baths, soaking pools or hot tubs and a large outside lounging areas. The inside areas can be somewhat of a maze around the sauna areas, but this provides many resting areas.

On a sunny day the focus is very much outside around the pools, the extensive and well-maintained lawn or garden area and sun decks.

Like most saunas Mediterana can become crowded during the busy times, especially on weekends. Visitors are usually a good mix of couples, groups and singles and of a wide age range.

Mediterana has a unique blend of Moroccan, African, Indian and north European influence, German quality and sauna culture and very good food. The result is an experience close to the 1,001 Arabian nights. Especially, after a visit to the quiet room in the shape of Berber-style tent decorated with carpets and cushions.

Mediterana is luxurious, very clean and relaxing with a unique atmosphere. Many visitors suggest you will need to plan to spend some time here to fully enjoy your visit. As many claim, their visit is never long enough.

There are over a dozen saunas themed in various styles including a Himalayan salt grotto, Moorish and Egyptian. Aufgass ceremonies are throughout the day, on the half hour and rotated between most of the saunas.

Mediterana also offers various health and spa treatments
